Nicholson's Pubs

Founded in 1873 by the Nicholson brothers, Nicholson’s pubs are now owned and operated by Mitchells and Butlers. There are over 80 Nicholson’s pubs in city centres across the UK, each one unique with colourful history and striking architecture. Nicholson’s pubs offer a wide selection of the best ales and are famous for their hearty breakfasts.

The solution

The launch of the Nicholson’s Pubs app marked the release of the first pub-based loyalty and rewards app in the UK. The app engages customers with various tools such as ‘Rewards & Offers’ a digital wallet function and an account login, as well as the unique ‘Ale Trails’ of London and ‘Ale Finder’.

Nicholson’s Pubs is now able to deploy push-notifications to directly communicate with their customers and increase customer engagement with both the app and the brand. Push notifications can be used to encourage further customer engagement, for example to re-engage a user who has completed an Ale Trail but not redeemed their reward.
