Our partnership with BT Expedite is enabling us to put PayPal at the forefront of the changing customer journey for Aurora Fashions.
Following PayPal’s successful launch onto the British high street on 31st May, the company has revealed the technology partners behind its inStore app – Eagle Eye Solutions and BT Expedite – and how they are helping Aurora Fashions bring together the online and bricks and mortar retail experience for customers using mobile.
By partnering with PayPal, us along with BT Expedite, Aurora Fashions can now offer PayPal’s 15 million customers the ability to make in-store purchases using their PayPal account. Further to this, retailers whose customers have made online purchases using PayPal can now process refunds and exchanges in-store using the original PayPal tender. This offers customers a seamless, omni-channel payment experience, removing previous complexities for retailers to refund online shoppers in-store using the original payment method.
Eagle Eye Solutions developed the technical solution that provides the interface between the retailer, PayPal and the PayPal inStore app, including the payment authentication platform, and mobile apps. Using multi-channel retail POS specialist BT Expedite, the payment authentication software was integrated within the existing point of sale (POS) infrastructure of 230 Aurora outlets within a matter of weeks.
As a result, any BT Expedite retail customer using the Store 6 point of sale system can now easily integrate, allowing customers to use PayPal inStore.
The PayPal inStore app, available for Android and Apple iOS (iPhone and iPad) devices, brings the flexibility of online shopping to the high street for the first time. It provides the customer with a unique barcode and transaction number, which the shop cashier scans to take payment from the customer’s PayPal account. There is also the option for customers to enter the transaction into the in store chip & PIN terminal. Payments, refunds and discounts are all managed via the app.
