Google Cloud Migration Project

Eagle Eye last week shared some exciting news with our clients about work we’re undertaking to enhance our IT infrastructure capabilities.

We began the process of communicating about the migration of our IT infrastructure to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with the help of our hosting partner, Rackspace.

While we are working to ensure this largely means “business as usual” for Eagle Eye AIR clients, and to avoid any major interruptions to any of Eagle Eye’s services throughout this period, we wanted to also outline what GCP work we’re doing and why we’re doing it in this blogpost.

Why is Eagle Eye migrating to GCP?

Eagle Eye’s rapid growth has resulted in our platforms processing unprecedented numbers of transactions every second. So, the work we are undertaking with Google and Rackspace will continue to allow the company to grow and scale while delivering an exceptional service.

The GCP migration will also help Eagle Eye deliver on its goal of becoming a truly global digital marketing platform, able to scale with our clients’ growth and support their digital performance marketing activities into the future.

What do clients need to do?

Our GCP project will affect domain names, IP addresses and SSL certificates. We will be communicating the details of the changes in advance of the migration dates, as outlined below. But Eagle Eye’s account and support teams are ready now to answer any questions.

When do you need to make changes?

Here are some diary dates that client IT teams may want to make a note of in the meantime:

  • Our UK sandbox is scheduled to go live on Wednesday, 13th February 2019.
    • This GCP environment replaces the environment commonly referred to as ‘LON5’ or ‘UAT’. We will be emailing follow-up details of this in the coming days.
  • Our UK production environment migration is planned for June 2019.
    • We will communicate diary dates and advance details of this change in March 2019.
We’ll also stay in regular touch to remind you of key GCP migration dates and changes that you or your teams may need to be aware of. Please drop us a line at support@eagleeye.com if anyone else you know of should also receive these emails.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions about Eagle Eye or its GCP migration in the meantime.
