Eagle Eye powers The UK’s Grand Outdoor Summer Café key workers’ promotion to help hospitality venues post-lockdown

Partnership enables public to say, ‘thank you,’ by donating complimentary vouchers to frontline workers for use in physically distanced outdoor hospitality initiative

Leading marketing technology company, Eagle Eye Solutions, is partnering with The UK’s Grand Outdoor Summer Café to power its key worker hospitality promotions scheme.

The UK’s Grand Outdoor Summer Café has been developed in anticipation of eased lockdown measures by live music venue operator, The Piano Works, to thank the public, reward key workers and generate revenue when the hospitality industry needs it most.

As the Minister for Local Government considers granting blanket permission to temporarily deregulate permitted seating outside hospitality venues on pavements and in squares and open spaces (subject to highway and safety concerns), the UK’s Grand Outdoor Summer Café is poised to launch this summer with 100 industry operators and counting.

The campaign is encouraging customers of participating operators to raise money towards vouchers for frontline workers via Eagle Eye’s audience network partnership with UK public sector discount scheme, Blue Light Card. Partnering with Eagle Eye and Wi-Fi provider Wireless Social means it is also easy and secure for any operator to take part.

Unique vouchers codes issued via the Eagle Eye AIR platform can be redeemed in real time using hygienic contactless systems in participating venues. Money raised towards vouchers will be reimbursed to operators at face value, driving footfall traffic and sales, and increasing customer confidence to visit by raising awareness of key workers socialising in their venues.

If the government fails to grant the blanket permission, vouchers can be used inside. They will not have an expiry date.

Eagle Eye is donating the use of its platform for this initiative at no cost. Wireless Social will onboard its service free of charge for any operators not currently using their guest Wi-Fi.
 
Notes:

The campaign will generate funds by contacting opted-in operator customer databases to redirect them to a JustGiving page. It will then contact frontline workers, inviting them to register their Blue Light Card numbers. A registered key worker will instantly receive a unique Eagle Eye voucher that can be redeemed at a participating venue of their choice.

For every £1 donated, the campaign will take 15p to cover VAT and administration fees. The campaign will reimburse participating operators and venues 100% of the value of the voucher. About The UK’s Grand Outdoor Summer Café

The Grand Outdoor Cafe is a campaign from live music venues The Piano Works to safely re-start the UK hospitality industry by transforming public spaces and streets into fabulous al fresco dining spaces whilst adhering to physical distancing. The campaign proposes that seating on pavements, squares and open spaces outside of restaurants and bars be permitted and is calling on the government to issue a directive to grant local authorities a temporary deregulation to allow tables and chairs outside existing hospitality businesses.
 
Following our open letter to Alok Sharma, calling on the government to allow local authorities to permit hospitality operators use open spaces and squares outside their venues to serve food and drinks, Robert Jenrick, the Housing and Local Government Minister, has said “he is now considering a ‘blanket’ permission for restaurants, pubs, cafes and bars to use pedestrianised streets for tables and chairs” as reported in the Sunday Telegraph 17th May.
